Charter Terms & Conditions

1. Provisional Bookings

a) Jacobite Cruises is willing to accept provisional bookings for 10 days without obligation. Thereafter a signed booking form and a deposit of 50% of the boat hire is required to confirm the provisional booking. Jacobite Cruises reserve the right to allocate the vessel to another customer if deposit is not paid in time.

b) Following receipt of the signed booking form and monies as referred to in paragraph 1a) above, the outstanding balance of the cruise must be received by Jacobite Cruises no later than 14 days prior to cruise date. The boat will not sail unless full payment has been received.

c) Jacobite Cruises reserves the right to refuse any booking request. Once a booking is confirmed it cannot be transferred between parties.

2. Security Bonds

a) A security bond may be required by Jacobite Cruises in connection with any booking. In this event payment of such bond will be required 14 days prior to cruise.

b) The security bond will be returned to the hirer no later than 7 days after the cruise, providing there is no damage to the vessel, furnishings or equipment, no alcohol is brought on board and no cleaning costs are incurred.

3. Alterations & Cancellations

a) Any alteration/cancellation of bookings must be received in writing by Jacobite Cruises

b) Cancellations made 60 days prior to the cruise will incur a £50.00 administration charge

c) Cancellations made less than 60 days but more than 30 days prior to a cruise date will incur a penalty of 50% of the vessel hire charge, if the vessel cannot be re-let to another party for that specific hire period.

d) Cancellations made less than 30 days but more than 7 days prior to the cruise date will incur a penalty of the full amount if the vessel cannot be re-let to another party for that specific hire period.

e) Cancellations received by Jacobite Cruises less than 7 days prior to cruise date will incur a penalty of the full amount of the vessel hire if the vessel cannot be re-let to another party for that specific period. In addition, the hirer will be responsible for any costs reasonably incurred by Jacobite Cruises in pursuance of the booking, which will include (but is not limited to) the costs of any food or refreshment ordered for the cruise and /or any on board entertainment.

4. Alcohol

a) Jacobite Cruises reserves the right for the skipper to refuse access to any individual, if it is the skipper's opinion they are under the influence of alcohol or that the individual potentially poses a threat to the health and safety of himself or other passengers.

b) Guests are not entitled to bring any alcohol onto the vessel. In the event of alcohol being brought onto the vessel by guests, the skipper or crew have the right to confiscate the alcohol. If it is found that customers' own alcohol has been consumed onboard, a corkage charge will be levied (see Security Bond) and the skipper has the right to terminate the cruise.

c) Onboard Entertainment

d) Bands or discos may be contracted by the customer to play on our vessels by prior arrangement only.

5. Duration

a) The vessel is booked for the agreed duration at the agreed price. If late guests delay the departure of the cruise the vessel will return to the quayside at the scheduled time regardless of actual cruise duration.

b) All charter boats will return to the quayside 5 minutes before the charter is scheduled to end, at which time the Bar will close. Upon arriving at the quayside guests will be permitted 15 minutes to finish their drinks. In a situation where guests do not disembark promptly at the end of that period, Jacobite Cruises reserves the right to invoice for additional time incurred, at the appropriate charter rate.

6. Cruising Conditions

a) All vessels sail subject to weather conditions. Jacobite Cruises can accept no responsibility in the event that a cruise has to be cancelled because of flooding or adverse weather conditions. Where possible 24 hours' notice will be given if flooding or adverse weather is likely to prevent the boat from sailing. Money will be refunded if an alternative date cannot be agreed.

7. Complaints

a) In the event of any complaint or problem arising during your cruise, a crew member should be approached with the problem. Where possible, this will be dealt with onboard to your satisfaction.

8. Amendment to Terms and Conditions

a) Jacobite Cruises reserve the right to amend or update the conditions of hire as and when necessary. The hirer should ensure that all members of the party are conversant with the terms and conditions of hire. The hirer will be deemed responsible for the behaviour of the passengers.

b) Jacobite Cruises does not accept bookings for 18th/21st birthdays and hen/stag parties. Please note that if your booking transpires to be a hen or stag party, 18th or 21st birthday, or any of the details given on the booking form prove to be inaccurate, Jacobite reserve the right to refuse boarding.
